What you’ll do

1. Maintain Trailer Reliability and Safety

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers to ensure safe and roadworthy operation.
  • Identify mechanical, electrical, structural, and operational issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Repair or replace damaged components while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and recommend preventive or corrective maintenance solutions.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with applicable safety regulations and company standards.

2. Execute Preventive Maintenance Programs

  • Perform scheduled maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and asset life.
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluid systems, filters, and other critical components.
  • Clean, lubricate, adjust, and service machinery and trailer systems according to maintenance schedules.
  • Document maintenance activity and identify recurring issues requiring long-term solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment failures and repair costs.

3. Diagnose and Resolve Equipment Issues

  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment to identify malfunctions and root causes.
  • Utilize appropriate testing equipment, measuring devices, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems.
  • Determine repair requirements and establish the most effective course of action.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Escalate complex issues and collaborate with maintenance leadership when specialized support is required.

4. Support Facility Maintenance Operations

  • Perform routine facility maintenance and repair work to maintain a safe and productive environment.
  • Complete floor, wall, and basic structural repairs as needed.
  • Assist with plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and building maintenance projects.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean and organized condition.
  • Support facility readiness by identifying and addressing maintenance concerns proactively.

5. Drive Operational Excellence

  • Estimate repair costs, material requirements, and labor needs for maintenance projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair status effectively.
  • Prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Partner with operations and regional maintenance teams to minimize disruptions and maximize equipment availability.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve maintenance processes, safety performance, and operational efficiency.

What you bring

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of machines, tools, repair techniques, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Basic electrical diagnosis and repair skills.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge and repair experience.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
