Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Computer Hardware Engineer/Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
**This position may be filled by either at the Principal Computer Hardware Engineer level OR at the Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.**
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Experience in COTS hardware and BSP designs, estimating application performance within the constructs of the hardware and methods of measuring application performance
Design and develop computer, network, and storage architecture, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis
Experience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work
Build supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Computer Hardware Engineer (T03)
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) (not needed to start).
Demonstrated knowledge of computer architecture and associated elements: processing hardware, operating systems, board support packages, messaging middleware, networking standards/protocols (e.g. 1553, 1394, Ethernet), and data storage
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Computer Hardware Engineer (T04)
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in
