Team Leader - Extrusion 2nd Shift

The Extrusion team leader is responsible for team and area activities to include operating the Extrusion machine that heats, forms, and molds raw materials into plastic sheets. The leader assures that the team has the knowledge, equipment and materials needed to perform their work. They confirm that the team is performing quality inspections, performing regular, preventive, tank and other equipment maintenance, documenting performance metrics on the technical board, and reporting out.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
· Work safely while performing job duties, assure that team is following safety guidelines for tasks
· Start up and shut down machine, lead SMED activities for line change events, control process through the job start to finish
· Operate machine to make acceptable products
· Confirm product quality, perform inspections and make quality decisions
· Perform regular and preventive machine maintenance, submit maintenance work orders for repairs
· Complete daily tasks and inspections check lists
· Make hazard observations, observe unsafe actions, and report both using Delta’s procedures.
· Document and update performance metrics. Report out at technical board
· Other duties as assigned.

Perform safety audits & ensure PPE is being used properly
Identify and report EHS&S observations and incidents
Materials:
Expedite material movement through processes
Ensure compliance to procedures through accurate production reporting
Production:
Monitor processes to maintain controls
Identify processes that need intervention and improvement
Respond to and facilitate team members’ improvement suggestions
Drive, document, analyze and maintain team’s metrics
Monitor scrap and first pass yield data to reduce waste
People:
Lead daily huddles
Assign work tasks and coordinate vacation scheduling, cover absences and provide relief
Recognition / celebrate the accomplishment of goals
Provide orientation of new team members
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience/Skills: Complete Shop Floor Management TL modules within 12 months of starting in role
Previous experience in a production environment
High School graduate or GED preferred Ability to interpret reports & analyze data
Proficiently use computer, MS Office programs and SAP
Must be able to: Demonstrate leadership
Be a role model for the Delta Faucet values
Work independently, make decisions, and communicate with others
Lift, bend and reach, including below waist level and above shoulder level
Lift, push and pull weights of up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs. occasionally
Use hands to manipulate parts and machine controls
Use vision to read labels and inventory sheets
Work assigned schedules including daily overtime and weekend work
