Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Junior-Level Environmental Scientist to be based in our Dallas, Texas office. The Environmental Scientist will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations
• Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation
• Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation
• Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
• Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Soil Science or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid U.S. driver's license, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening
• Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications:

• HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training
• 1-2 years of environmental consulting experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $49,000 - $68,000.
