Job Summary
The Senior Director of Employee Communications is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing HP’s internal communications strategy. This role ensures that employees across the globe are informed, inspired, and aligned with HP’s purpose, values, and business priorities. The leader will drive storytelling, engagement, and change communications that foster a high-performance culture and deepen employee connection to HP’s mission.

Responsibilities

 Strategic Internal Communications

  • Develop and lead a global employee communications strategy that supports HP’s business transformation, culture, and leadership priorities.

  • Partner with the Chief Communications Officer, Chief People Officer, and Executive Leadership Team to cascade key messages and drive alignment across the organization.

  • Translate complex business strategies into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse employee audiences.

Executive and Leadership Communications

  • Provide strategic counsel and content support for internal communications from the CEO and senior leaders.

  • Shape and manage executive visibility across internal channels, including town halls, video messages, blogs, and employee forums.

 Employee Engagement and Culture Activation

  • Design and execute campaigns that reinforce HP’s purpose, values, and leadership principles (e.g., “Start with the Customer,” “Develop the Team,” “Own the Outcome” 

  • Partner with HR, DEI, and Corporate Affairs to amplify initiatives around culture, inclusion, sustainability, and digital equity.

 Change and Transformation Communications

  • Lead communications for enterprise-wide change initiatives, including organizational design, job leveling, and business transformation efforts 

  • Ensure employees understand the “why” behind changes and feel supported through transitions.

 Channel Strategy and Measurement

  • Oversee HP’s internal communications channels (intranet, newsletters, digital signage, etc.) and continuously optimize for reach and impact.

  • Establish KPIs and feedback loops to measure effectiveness and inform strategy.

 Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of internal communications professionals.

  • Collaborate closely with peers in Corporate Communications, HR, Marketing, and Business Units to ensure message consistency and strategic alignment.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in internal or employee communications, preferably in a global, matrixed organization.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and drive alignment across executive stakeholders.

  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Experience managing communications during periods of change and transformation.

  • Strong understanding of digital communication tools and analytics.

• Impacts entire business and influences company direction across multiple disciplines or areas of HP.

The pay range for this role is $183,650 to $293,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
