Project Manager – IT Infrastructure (Contract Role)

Location: Ideally based in Pittsburgh, PA (onsite travel required)

Overview

Our client requires a dedicated Project Manager to coordinate multiple IT infrastructure initiatives with critical deadlines in mid-October. These include upgrades, hardware refreshes, and server and switch replacements. The role demands strong vendor coordination, scheduling, and communication skills to unify efforts across several overlapping workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead centralized project management across all infrastructure initiatives.
• Coordinate Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades, ensuring compatibility and minimizing disruption.
• Oversee hardware refresh for approximately 1,000 + endpoints across multiple locations.
• Align projects with other location-based activities to avoid operational impact.
• Facilitate kickoff and planning meetings with internal teams and vendors.
• Consolidate tasks per location to reduce cost and avoid multiple disruptions.
• Track progress, identify risks, and escalate issues related to regulatory constraints and resource limitations.

  Qualifications

• Proven experience managing complex IT infrastructure projects.
• Strong vendor management skills--experience managing and coordinating different partners is a must.
• Excellent communication, scheduling, and coordination abilities.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
