Shift: 2nd; however this is a Utility role and will be required to cover other shifts when team members are absent.

Hours: 1:30 pm – 9:30 pm / or end of shift  (flex as needed)

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with Saturdays & Sundays as needed

Summary:  Our Extrusion Technician is a machine operator and is responsible for the set-up tear down and operation of the co-extrusion equipment including the par cool tower and liquid smoke application. Our Extrusion Technician must ensure that compliance of the company specifications and regulatory standard. Our Extrusion Technician will perform corrective actions arising from quality or food safety deviations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify problems and initiate corrective action arising from quality and food safety deviations. Identify and support process improvements.
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to gather and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.
• Must meet commitments with demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
• Able to read and interpret written information.
• Comply with all safety food safety GMP and SQF Requirements.
• Must have the ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to use chemicals for cleaning and complete sanitation processes.
• Ability to use computer programs for inventory purposes filing of documents and gathering process information.
• Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
• Must perform all positions of rotation if applicable.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience:

• Prior machine operator experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.

Communication Skills:

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

Special Skills:

• Basic math skills required.
• Must be able to complete paperwork and use SAP as required for the role.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with good hand-eye coordination.
• Frequent use of hands and wrists with strong grip strength.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Frequent lifting of 20 lbs from below the waist to above the shoulder.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs or more using proper body mechanics.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to 12 hours.
• Occasional stair climbing required throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work in cold, wet conditions (around 35°F).

• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must reside in the United States to be considered.
