About the role

Data Engineer

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain cloud-native data ingestion pipelines and analytics infrastructure on AWS. You will develop and support API-driven ingestion feeds, maintain Lambda and Glue-based ETL processes, model and query data in Redshift across landing, staging, core, and mart layers, and monitor production workloads for reliability and data quality. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and cloud operations, and includes exposure to data visualization and dashboard delivery for business stakeholders.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Build and support ingestion pipelines that pull data from external APIs, normalize JSON and CSV payloads, and land data in Amazon S3.
  • Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions supporting ingestion and orchestration workflows.
  • Create and maintain AWS Glue jobs, including Visual ETL workflows.
  • Support large-volume data loads and batch processing, including ECS or Fargate.
  • Write and maintain Redshift SQL organized into properly layered landing, staging, core, and mart structures, including tables and views.
  • Develop efficient queries using joins, aggregations, and views against large datasets.
  • Implement and maintain SQL-based data quality checks covering null values, duplicates, row counts, and schema change detection.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and remediate pipeline and job failures using CloudWatch logs and job run histories.
  • Work within supporting AWS services, including VPC, IAM, SSM Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
  • Adhere to established AWS naming conventions and follow DEV/STAGE/PROD promotion patterns.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting assets in Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI to support business stakeholders.
  • Ingest and manipulate data in dashboards.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, including joins, aggregations, views, and query optimization
  • 2+ years of experience in ETL development or data cleaning and parsing
  • 2+ years of experience with data visualization using Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Experience with ingestion pipelines consuming REST APIs and normalizing JSON or CSV data into S3
  • Experience maintaining AWS Lambda functions, creating AWS Glue jobs, executing visual ETL workflows, and implementing data quality validation in SQL, including nulls, duplicates, row counts, and schema drift
  • Experience monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving job failures via CloudWatch logs and job run histories
  • Experience supporting AWS services, including VPC, IAM, SSM Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, and KMS
  • Ability to write and maintain layered Redshift SQL, including landing, staging, core, or mart, using tables and views
  • Ability to follow AWS naming conventions and execute DEV/STAGE/PROD promotion patterns
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • 1+ years of experience with cybersecurity
  • Experience writing AWS Lambda functions in Python
  • Experience with PySpark for ETL development within Glue
  • Experience with ECS or Fargate for large data loads
  • Experience with CI/CD practices, including GitHub version control and GitHub Actions, automated testing, and release management
  • Experience with front-end or stack development in JavaScript, including with React, Vue, or Angular
  • Experience with Python or JavaScript
  • Experience with GitHub
  • Bachelor's degree
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or similar AWS Certification
