This role plays a critical part in shaping sourcing strategies, enhancing supplier relationships, and delivering long-term value through cost optimization, risk mitigation, and innovation.  As a member within the supply chain organization, the Category Lead collaborates cross-functionally with stakeholders in Operations, Quality, Finance, and R&D to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational excellence. About the Role: 

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive category sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Drive supplier selection and qualification processes through RFI/RFQ activities, ensuring alignment with technical, quality, and commercial requirements
• Lead contract negotiations and establish OEM Supply Agreements and/or Distribution Agreements with suppliers
• Manage and execute supply chain initiatives focused on cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency
• Oversee vendor lifecycle management, including onboarding, performance evaluation, and exit strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies and supply continuity
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal demand to identify strategic sourcing opportunities
• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on category performance, risks, and opportunities
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation within the supply base and internal processes
• Mentor and influence cross-functional teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Partner closely with these teams to ensure the seamless execution of sourcing strategies and maintain supply continuity

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
• Previous experience in category management 5+ years
• Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in data analysis tools
• Understanding of medical devices and industry regulations
• Willingness to flex work hours as necessary to engage with global teams and supply partners
• Willingness to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives to drive solutions
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement analytics tools, SAP preferred
