Overview
Corporate Banking (CB) is a technology centric business, with an increasing move to real-time processing, an increasing appetite from customers for integrated systems and access to supporting data. Joining our team is a unique opportunity to help rebuild the core of some of our most mission critical processing systems from the ground-up. As a Cloud Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring cost efficiency in addition to other responsibilities.

What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring cost efficiency
Plan infrastructure capacity and throughput to accommodate processing of large volumes of data; diagnose and eliminate performance bottlenecks; optimize cloud expenditures by leveraging cost-saving strategies like committed use discounts, autoscaling, and resource rightsizing
Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Deployment Manager to automate and manage infrastructure deployments
Establish and enforce security protocols, Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, and compliance measures to protect data and meet organizational requirements
Establish maintenance and troubleshooting operating procedures for cloud infrastructure
Create and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions to enable automated and efficient application deployments
How You’ll Lead
Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and best practices within GCP
Collaborate effectively across various technical and non-technical teams
Skills You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Cloud-native application architecture and deployment
Strong proficiency with administering and maintaining Kubernetes clusters and proficiency with tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, and
Ansible for managing infrastructure and applications
Strong experience with (IaC) tools, including Terraform and GCP-native Deployment Manager
Expertise in security practices, IAM policies, and compliance requirements for cloud environments, as well as developing high-throughput, high-capacity applications
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud-based infrastructure and applications
Google Cloud certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional DevOps Engineer are highly valued
Experience with Kafka Messaging Broker, with Str
