Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Assembler Team Lead to support the Propulsion Team with the 787 Engines work statement in North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd shift.

The Team Lead will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas; pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. The selected candidate must exhibit Boeing behaviors and maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex production operations on 787 Engines work statement including (but not limited to): Engine Build-up, Engine Hang, Electrical System Hook-ups, Nacelle Installations, Customer Shakes, etc

  • Models a culture of One Team, Pride and Ownership

  • Teams with PSC Integrated Build Teams (IBTs) and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk utilizing Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) methodologies

  • Facilitates communication between shifts, teams and other organizations

  • Identifies KPI and BPS improvement actions

  • Builds effective resource plans, monitors progress to plans, resolve roadblocks and escalates issues which cannot be resolved by the team

  • Establishes overtime requirements and staffing

  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling Lean Manufacturing Systems (LMS) and 5S activities

  • Supports teammates to improve their job performance by providing on the job training and coaching

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing

  • 3+ years of formal or informal leadership experience

  • 1+ years’ experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Able to complete fall protection training

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Team Lead Experience

  • Fall Protection Certified

  • Experience navigating DFK, IVT, CMES, TMC, COGNOS

  • Experience operating scissor lift, aerial boom lift, single person lift

  • Experience with shake process and working with customer coordinators and live customers
