About the role

Nemours is seeking an AVP Ambulatory Operations – North Florida (Full-Time), to join our Nemours team in Pensacola, Florida.

Assistant Vice President, Operations is responsible for the overall operation and performance of Nemours Children’s Health, Ambulatory Practice.  Reporting to the Vice President, Operations of Nemours Children’s Health, North FL, the Assistant Vice President, Operations maintains line and matrix oversight for NCH ambulatory practice. Oversight of ancillary FTEs and indirect oversight clinical FTEs in conjunction with nursing leadership. Maintains oversight of NCH ambulatory practice day-to-day operational responsibilities for all non-physician clinical care and support functions.  Manages resources, processes, procedures, and facilities to support the ongoing mission of NCH ambulatory practice and the Nemours Foundation.  Partners with Finance for preparation and execution of the ambulatory practice operating and capital budget programs and facilitates accreditation, licensure, and regulatory program compliance.  The Assistant Vice President, Operations, maintains professional and supportive working relationships with the Nemours Executive Team, Nemours President, Florida Operations, Nemours Florida Leadership Team, NCH Ambulatory Chief Medical Officer, NCH NFL Chief Nursing Officer, Finance North Florida, NFL Hospital Partners, Department Chairs, medical staff leaders and enterprise services directors to effectively support the mission.   The position oversees local support departments and maintains effective liaison with other enterprise services functions and hospital partners.     

 

Job Responsibilities will include:

Fiscal Leadership

  • Works collaboratively with the Finance and Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Affairs, Patient Services as well as clinical providers, and other key stakeholders in the execution of fiscal responsibilities. 
  • Ensures pricing, contract and collection practices and policies within the clinical operations are appropriate, supporting the maximization of realized revenue while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure monitoring processes are operational and effective. 
  • Accountable for the ambulatory operating and capital budgets, financial results, and consolidated financial performance reporting. 
  • Develop and monitor cost-containment strategies that drive greatest value for patients, families, and organization while creating financial sustainability. 

Facilities and Construction Leadership

  • Oversite of the continuous maintenance of facilities. 
  • Develop and maintain in conjunction with local operating entity management master facility plans. 
  • Manage multi-million-dollar consulting contracts for the design of large complex healthcare facilities.
  • Assist the operating divisions and departments in space planning to achieve optimal functioning and program operations.
  • Manage large multi-million-dollar contracts for managed services including but not limited to Clinical Engineering, Environmental Services, and Security.
  • In conjunction with NFL VP of Operations and Strategy, support development of organization-wide efficiencies in facilities management such as in contracting, coordination, and utility management.
  • In conjunction with NFL VP of Operations and Strategy, develop and execute, in coordination with local operating entity management, a long-term capital improvement plan for the organization’s facilities.
  • Coordinate the development and management of the operating budgets and capital budgets for facilities management with local operating entity management team.
  • Assure that effective programs for day-to-day facilities management are in place in the organization’s facilities through either contracted services or in-house functional staff.

Patient Access, Satisfaction, and Safety

  • Responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and optimizing patient access to clinical care delivered by the departments. 
  • Monitor performance against access targets for clinical operations scheduling and wait times. 
  • Develop and implement improvement interventions when warranted. 
  • Working with the quality improvement, patient safety, and legal teams, lead the departments to continuously improve patient access and flow, service effectiveness, patient safety and satisfaction.

Associate Safety

  • Working with the Senior Director of Public Safety, ensure all associates are appropriately equipped to operate in a safe environment, providing sufficient and qualified staffing of public safety.
