Who we are:
At Ragnar, we have built a premiere series of road and trail running adventures. While we are excited about the progress we’ve made over the past 20 years, we feel like we are just scratching the surface. We want to change how individuals spend their weekend and infuse adventure into their everyday life.
We have built a coast-to-coast relay series, our own technology platform, dabbled in virtual events and partnered with some amazing brands along the way. Here at Ragnar, we are a passionate and scrappy team coming together from a wide range of backgrounds to solve incredibly complex problems and deliver amazing experiences.
We are looking for Seasonal Road Crew to join our team. As a member of the Road Crew, you will work directly with our Operations team to execute strategic and tactical event processes that occur onsite pre-race and race day to ensure logistically sound events and participant experience. This job is all travel, not in the office. All our events fall on weekends, and you must be able to work long hours during events. Employees in this position must have flexibility in their schedule to travel to at least 4 events in 2024 (See event schedule here: https://www.runragnar.com/map?location=United%20States) and must be a current resident of one of the following states: UT, ID, OR, CO, AZ, MN, ME, MI, TN, FL, OH, WI, CT, AL, NC, NJ, or PA.
What you will be working on:
- Responsible for the physical setup and tear down of event venues including Start Lines, Finish Lines, Glampsites, etc., and the management of volunteers throughout the process
- Assembling tents, tables, start line arches, finish line chute and banners, and decorations
- Transporting event equipment using 26’ box trucks, pick-up trucks, forklifts, and hand carts
- Inventorying and loading of race materials and equipment into trailer
- Interacting with runners, volunteers, temp staff, and city officials in a positive manner, including answering questions about the event and Ragnar
- Assisting staff and volunteers with technical needs throughout the event, such as providing power and lighting
- Miscellaneous projects and other related duties as assigned
Requirements

- Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to read a map and count inventory
- Have a clean moving vehicle record (MVR) and be comfortable driving large vehicles such as 26’ box trucks and operating heavy equipment such as a forklift
- Must be comfortable using hand tools, power tools, basic small engine mechanics, and a creative mind to use of duct tape to fix any problem
- Must be able to travel to at least 4 events in 2024. Travel for each event is 5-8 days at a time depending on the event and job assignment and includes work/travel on weekends and holidays
- Must be able to commit to schedule 8-12 weeks in advance
- Must be comfortable with physical labor (able to maneuver odd objects/equipment up to 50 lbs.) and working long hours.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather, heat, cold and/or humidity

- This is a physically demanding role. This role is required to spend long hours managing a large outdoor event. The role requires the safe operation Box Trucks, and utility carts. The role requires the safe operation of power/hand tools, construction of simple structures, and the ability to transport event equipment (up to 50lbs.). To complete the essential functions this role must be able to communicate with co-workers in spaces with moderate to loud levels of volume. The role also requires the use of vision in various settings (such as but not limited to close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision).
- Must be willing to follow established departmental policies, procedures, and safety protocol.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
