Senior Pharmacy Technician at Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Full-Time/Day Shift

The Acute Care Pharmacy Technician III is well versed in multiple areas of inpatient pharmacy technician areas.  Work responsibilities include collecting medication histories for emergency department or newly admitted patients, and direct patient interaction.  Technicians work closely with pharmacists and providers to validate and verify medications patients are taking prior to admission and document the medication list in the medical record.  Other pharmacy technician duties include all other areas of an inpatient pharmacy such as filling and transporting medication to nursing units in a prompt and accurate manner, as well as mixing sterile and non-sterile preparations.

Required qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • upon hire: Oregon Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician. Or
  • upon hire: Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
  • 1 year Retail pharmacy experience or medication history technician experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
  • PTCB
  • PTCB certificate in Medication History.
  • 1 year Inpatient hospital experience
  • 1 year Experience with pharmacy information systems (i.e., Epic, ADM applications)

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
