About the role

Position Overview

The Sr. Collections Administrator’s primary responsibility is to conduct collection calls and emails with domestic and foreign customers regarding past due balances and outstanding credits.  The Sr. Collections Administrator is tasked with reducing SonoSite’s outstanding overdue accounts receivable balance while maintaining  relationships with our customers.  As a Sr. Collections Administrator, you must have the ability to work effectively and coordinate their collection efforts along with SonoSite finance/credit teams based outside the United States, while coordinating their domestic efforts with the corporate team.  This is a requirement of the position and another key to success of the role.  In addition, as a member of the Accounting/Finance group, you will have the opportunity to participate in other projects/initiatives outside of Credit/AR job function.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create the link between customer data in various systems.
  • Cross reference multiple systems and sources to validate customer account information, and merge or eliminate duplicates as necessary.
  • Identify and perform data cleansing where necessary.
  • Move customer assets to the proper account.
  • Conduct audits to validate the results of customer data cleaning.
  • Assist the data management team with cleanup and integration efforts as needed.
  • Work across multiple departments to determine the correct customer accounts.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Daily operations of the Credit/AR department, including but not limited to: verifying, forwarding, and filing invoices and statements, reconciling account balances, conducting bank and reference checks for domestic and international accounts, running credit reports, and data entry
  • Collections – Heavy customer contact: at least 75% of the time spent via phone and email with domestic and foreign customers regarding past due balances
  • Collection calls on past due invoices/accounts to domestic customers, while gradually taking on a global collection focus.
  • Sending invoices to end users based on contact information in Salesforce.com
  • Identification and resolution of customer disputes
  • Researching overdue customer accounts prior to direct contact
  • Other duties as assigned, including cash posting, running credit reports, evaluating customer trade references, and trade receivables analysis, and reconciliations.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Previous Collection experience of at least 5-7 years
  • Knowledge of Oracle navigation and functionality is a plus
  • Experience Navigating thru Salesforce.com is a plus

  • Understands Corporate collection process flow and collection requirements
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Functional knowledge of MS Office Suite and use of basic Excel forms and calculations 
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Able to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations

Salary and Benefits:

  • $26.00/hr - $32.00/hr depending on experience (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
