PGIM Fixed Income is looking for an experienced underwriter to help drive our newly developed private credit investment strategy. The incumbent will be a key founding member of the team responsible for originating large cap private credit (“LCPC”) investments that are typically sourced through investment banks, private equity sponsors and other intermediaries. Leveraging our existing sponsor relationships will be an important part of the strategy as PGIM Fixed Income is often the largest lender in a capital structure. Our reputational advantage is expected to lead to strong sourcing capabilities.
This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees meet with their team in the office on set days of the week and can work remotely the remainder of the week. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration and may be required during group specific events (Town Halls, etc.).
What you can expect
- Responsibility for leading the LCPC underwriting efforts and presenting recommendations to the Senior Credit Leadership and Private Credit Investment Committee.
- Actively participate in relationship building with clients, sponsors and intermediaries
- Present investment thesis and positioning to all internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in the firm’s marketing and fundraising efforts as needed
What you will bring
- 10+ years of fixed income industry experience
- Underwriting expertise in large cap private transactions to help drive high quality transaction flow leading to overall growth of the LCPC strategy
- Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with sponsors, banks and other intermediaries
- Significant knowledge of global capital markets along with strong analytical and investment skills
- Ability to distill and communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to a variety of decision makers and audiences
- Ability to work well as part of a team and enjoy a fast paced, high intensity environment
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA and/or CFA preferred
- Ability to travel

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The base salary range for this role is from $175,000 to $200,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. This role is also eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits including a competitive, discretionary annual cash bonus opportunity along with long term incentive awards. Eligibility to participate in the discretionary annual incentive programs are subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
