Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Enterprise Product Team builds products that provide essential capabilities to organizations throughout NBCUniversal. The team leverages deep relationships with our business engagement and engineering counterparts to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions for their clients or users. The product portfolio is aligned around critical NBCU functions such as Content/Title Management, Data & Analytics, Scheduling & Distribution, and Content Sales.

As a part of the Product team, you will be responsible for several products in your department.  You will be in constant communication with clients on anything product related, including development progress, deliverables, and timelines. You will lead grooming sessions, and execute product demos, and walkthroughs.  You are an expert in your area’s product features, capabilities, and functionality.  You will be a consultant on new multi-product initiatives or programs.  You will be a mentor to product specialists. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Experience in managing the end-to-end life cycle of a product
  • Manage feature roadmap and prioritization of capabilities and features of a product
  • Engage across functions with multiple stakeholders, and translate requirements into well-documented product features
  • Lead grooming sessions to maintain a consistently up-to-date backlog of clearly defined features/stories
  • Fully document product features and capabilities in JIRA, ensuring all stories have acceptance criteria that is clear and can be measured
  • Collaborate across teams and with architecture and solutions leaders, to identify the best technical solution for a feature or capability that meets the needs of the clients
  • Be a strategic partner and work with business stakeholders to define high-impact analytical problems and find innovative ways to solve problems with data
  • Define and own overall product vision, strategy, and success metrics for key initiatives around data warehouse and business intelligence.
  • Capture and analyze requests from teams across Marketing, Ad Sales, Product, and other teams to define data needs and prioritize roadmap
  • Analyze and document complex business requirements and processes; constructs conceptual data and process models; develop business requirements
  • Hands-on data exploration and analyses of large data to enable data-driven stories and product features
  • Continually drive to understand business needs and use that data to define our platform strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience in the technology or media industry
  • Minimum 1+ years’ experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Minimum 1+ years’ experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities
  • Expertise in the SDLC process, with a focus on scoping, iteration planning, user story and acceptance criteria writing, rollout management
  • Experience working in an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Product, Technical Product, or Technical/Engineering role

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum 1+ years product management experience in media, gathering client requirements, writing product and/or technical specifications, working with development teams, and managing product roadmaps as well as launches
  • At least 2 years of direct client engagement experience
  • Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Technology, or related field
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience with using Jira or a similar system to track and maintain fea
