Job SummaryAs the Director of Finance & Operations, you will be a vital force in driving our organization's financial health and strategic growth. Reporting to and collaborating directly with the COO, you will oversee a wide array of financial functions, from accounting and budgeting to financial compliance and reporting. Your role will encompass overseeing our financial operations across all countries of operation, as well as managing key facets of operations such as administration and IT. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including general accounting, accounts receivable/payable, grants and contributions, cash flow, and tax compliance. Manage the global consolidation of transactions from multiple countries.
  • Budgeting: Lead the annual budget process, conduct scenario planning, and budget and expenditure forecasts with the leadership team to evaluate financial and strategic impact. Develop donor budget forecasts and analytics to support fundraising.
  • Audit: Lead the annual audit and ensure a smooth and timely organizational audit. Program Grants Administration: Take charge of program grants cost-share administration and management, ensuring efficient allocation of funds, compliance with grant requirements, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop financial and operational strategies.
  • Investment Strategy: Manage the organization's investment plan, working with the COO and CEO to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
  • Board & Committee Support: Prepare materials for meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees, including projections, financial status analysis, budgets, and related analyses to support informed decision-making.
  • Bank Account Oversight: Manage and maintain the organization's bank accounts with precision, including cash flow management, transaction oversight, and timely reconciliation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the Finance & Operations team, hire, supervise, and mentor finance staff as needed.
  • Compliance and Control: Establish and uphold internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and reduce risk.
  • Reporting & Communication: Present financial reports to stakeholders and support informed decision-making.
  • Financial Literacy: Promote financial literacy and accountability among all staff.
  • Vendor/Partner Relations & Contracts Management: Manage relationships with financial institutions and vendors. Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/ reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks to protect organizational assets.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on financial industry trends and best practices to drive improvement.
  • Operations: Oversee the U.S. administrative management and liaise with each office in GHC’s countries of operation for consistent administration and facilities support; Manage the procurement of large assets and maintain U.S. tax exemption status for purchases.
  • Compliance: Supervise the legal and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
