Job Summary:
Primm Valley Casino Resorts is seeking a dependable and skilled Facility Technician with a strong electrical background to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of electrical systems while also supporting the maintenance and upkeep of resort facilities, equipment, and property. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable operation of electrical infrastructure, lighting, power distribution, and building systems throughout the resort. In addition to electrical work, the Facility Technician will perform general maintenance duties, assist with facility improvement projects, and help maintain the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of the property. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, hands-on, and experienced in commercial electrical maintenance within a hospitality, casino, or industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, lighting, wiring, outlets, switches, panels, breakers, motors, and related electrical equipment throughout the resort.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing equipment such as multimeters and electrical diagnostic tools.
- Install, replace, and repair electrical fixtures, receptacles, lighting systems, ballasts, breakers, and other electrical components in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, resort facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues.
- Replace or repair defective parts and components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Assist with the installation, relocation, and setup of equipment, fixtures, furnishings, and facility improvement projects.
- Perform general building maintenance, including painting, drywall repair, flooring, roofing, doors, windows, and other structural repairs as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and help prevent equipment failures.
- Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance logs, records of labor, materials, and completed repairs.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of electrical supplies, maintenance materials, tools, and replacement parts.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, power outages, and urgent maintenance requests.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, ladders, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow all company policies, OSHA safety standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, and applicable federal, state, local, and gaming regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial or industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting controls, wiring methods, motors, breakers, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience using electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Working knowledge of general building maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform repairs independently.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced resort environment.
Preferred
- High school diploma or GED.
- Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent electrical trade training preferred.
- Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, casino, resort, commercial, or industrial environment.
- Forklift and pallet jack certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic computer skills for work order management and maintenance reporting.
