JOB DUTIES:
Operates campus-wide mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
Repairs and maintains air handling roof top units and exhaust fans
Uses energy management system to monitor and schedule HVAC units for efficient operation and energy conservation
Operates and maintains campus hot water distribution system
Installs, repairs, and services equipment (such as pumps, fans, heating boilers, heat exchangers, water softeners, duct work, piping, steam pressure regulators and traps)
Maintains proper tuning of (and records for) boiler systems; inspects boilers
Maintains refrigeration equipment, units, and appliances
Schedules work priorities for routine and preventative maintenance; schedules and prioritizes work orders
Periodically carries the Facilities Department "on-call" phone and responds to campus facilities emergencies (by direct intervention or contacting the most appropriate party)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only: Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
-OR-
Education and Experience: A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and skill using Microsoft computer programs
Strong communication skills
Excellent time management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines
Prior occupational experience with HVAC and web control
Prior occupational experience using electronic work order systems
