Doeren Mayhew is seeking a Senior Manager to work in our Business Advisory Group headquartered in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate would have 3 plus years of public accounting experience and at least 6 years total experience in public accounting and/or industry. Responsibilities:
- Manage engagement team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and be a resource for team members.
- Provide guidance/mentorship to associates and assist them in developing technical skills.
- Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines and deliverables.
- Build and maintain client relationships and ensure client needs are being met.
- Advise and support the preparation of financial reports including financial statements, cash-flow statements, budgets, projections, and dashboard reports.
- Analyze and reconcile financial accounts, support general ledger management, provide cash-flow analysis and report on budget variances.
- Assist clients in the development of accounting best practices, monthly closing procedures and checklists
- Provide QuickBooks and various other accounting software support and training to clients in a variety of industries.
- Participate in special projects such as strategic planning, exit planning, systems optimization, organizational design, etc.
- Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex technical issues.
- Seek opportunities to participate in practice development to build network of referral sources.
- Present new ideas and improvements for ways of performing tasks in order to achieve firm and departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA License required
- 3+ years of public accounting experience
