Work Setting: Fully Onsite

Reports To: Vice President of Operations and Organizational Capacity

Pay Range: $120,00 -$150,000/year

Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Technology provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for all technology initiatives across Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFS). This role oversees IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital innovation to ensure that systems, tools, and services align with organizational goals and support high-impact community programs. The Senior Director partners with leadership to enhance efficiency, strengthen data and system security, and lead a service-oriented IT team committed to operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Oversee the planning and execution of technology strategies that support the organization’s mission and operational goals
  • Manage IT team structure, staffing needs, and performance reviews; identify gaps in skills or knowledge and support professional development
  • Develop and maintain the IT department budget and ensure responsible resource allocation

Technology Infrastructure & Asset Management

  • Lead oversight of all IT infrastructure, including equipment, software, and network systems across the organization
  • Maintain systems for device and endpoint management, monitoring, and compliance (e.g., Intune or similar platforms)
  • Ensure effective backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are in place and tested regularly
  • Manage vendor relationships and maintain current records on contracts, renewals, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs)

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity policies and identity access management systems
  • Ensure the organization is aligned with standards such as HIPAA, CIS Controls, or other relevant frameworks
  • Regularly audit access, monitor incidents, and lead efforts to mitigate risks to critical business services

Service Delivery & Helpdesk Oversight

  • Provide oversight of IT service delivery, including helpdesk operations and user support
  • Monitor service metrics and ensure timely, high-quality support across departments
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to identify and resolve recurring IT challenges

Innovation & Digital Transformation

  • Identify and recommend emerging technologies to improve organizational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery
  • Support digital transformation initiatives that modernize internal systems and improve staff and client experiences

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations
  • Centralize IT knowledge in an accessible and well-maintained environment to support internal continuity

Skills/Experience/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity
  • Proven experience managing IT operations, infrastructure, budgets, and vendor relationships
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure), enterprise systems, and cybersecurity principles
  • Experience with endpoint and systems management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune
