About the role

 

The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) will help the Human Resources Manager with the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department.  The HRG may be asked to conduct any aspect of HR at the direction of the HR Manager, as appropriate, but is primarily responsible for recruiting, onboarding, engagement activities, HR compliance, HRIS administration, and benefit enrollments.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Partners with HR Management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations,
  • Provide intake support for employee relations issues such as; employee complaints, and harassment or civil rights complaint allegations.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers and supervisors to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Administers, reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including new hire orientation.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, as assigned.
  • Handles employment and benefit-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • May attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and
  • Performs all duties in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs routine HR administrative tasks and employee engagement activities, including communication through electronic boards, recognition programs, bulletin boards, and newsletters.
  • Support the CJK Group Core Values effort throughout the company.
  • Complies with the safety expectations of the facility
  • Backs up HR Manager function, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent

combination of education, training, and experience.

  • One (1) plus year(s) of work experience in Human Resources.
  • Excellent communicator, listener, and problem-solver.
  • Basic understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and utmost confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

 

Desired Skills and Abilities: 

  • Human Resources Certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR)
  • Three (3) plus years of work experience in Human Resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Canva
  • ADP experience

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
