Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

The Sustainability Leader will be responsible for driving clarity and execution across the Infrastructure Technology organization for projects that focus on sustainability and environmental initiatives. This position will measure and monitor results and establish standard operating procedures for data-driven decisions. This role will also need to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and develop strategic plans for sustainability programs while being able to influence decisions with leaders from across the Infrastructure Technology organization.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Create, lead, and maintain an energy strategy to reduce, on an ongoing basis, the utility demands of Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s manufacturing facility including but not limited to electricity, water, and natural gas consumption.
  • Project manage multiple initiatives, sets expectations, and produces deliverables that adhere to timeline, budget, and quality standards
  • Lead project management activities including defining scope, planning, identifying resources, budgeting, and developing timelines
  • Create project plans to ensure deadlines are met, anticipates potential roadblocks and risks, and escalates and solves issues as they arise.
  • Develop the annual business plan and objectives with strategic direction and project identification from the team.
  • Evaluate facility energy usage and design a program that increases efficiency, reduces CO2 footprint, and reduces costs aligned with the company’s mid and long-term ambitions.
  • Create awareness campaigns and periodic facility-wide communications that assist in improving overall energy consumption.
  • Develops utility management measures and digital dashboards related to building heating/cooling, electrical usage, efficient irrigation practices, reclaimed water, potable water conservation, compressed air and steam usage.
  • Stay abreast of relevant environmental standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

BS or MS in Engineering, Material Science, or Environmental Science preferred.
Experience with Life Cycle Analysis desired, but not required
Prior experience in sustainable technology, renewable energy, or clean manufacturing is preferred
Minimum Years of experience: 10

  • Ability to develop and communicate technical positions to multi-functional teams with business and technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong initiative, follow-through, and attention to detail needed to ensure all elements require for sustainability are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing business priorities, ability to communicate swiftly to team members when a change in direction is needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present information to both technical and non-technical audiences
