Company Description
The Cash Application Analyst is responsible for ensuring the prompt and precise application of customer payments to accounts receivable. Utilizing advanced problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities, this role supports the maintenance of clean aging, enhances visibility into cash flow, and safeguards financial data integrity by resolving discrepancies, investigating unapplied cash, and collaborating with internal teams to prevent future payment issues. Furthermore, this position contributes to process improvement efforts, initiatives to enhance data integrity, and system upgrades that optimize the end-to-end process.
Job Description
Accurately process high-volume customer payments (ACH, wire transfers, lockbox payments, credit card transactions, and EFT) to ensure they are posted to the correct accounts and invoices on a daily basis.
Review remittance documentation and reconcile payments with open receivables to ensure proper allocation.
Investigate and resolve unidentified payments, partial payments, and short payments by coordinating with customers, collectors, and internal teams.
Uphold exceptional accuracy standards when applying cash to minimize unapplied or misapplied balances.
Promptly monitor, clear, and reconcile unapplied cash, on-account payments, and suspense accounts.
Manage and process all returned checks and ACH items from banks, ensuring precise updates and applications to customer accounts.
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives while collaborating with stakeholders, offering subject matter expertise, and serving as a trusted business advisor.
Provide support to management through reporting and valuable insights derived from the cash application process.
COLLABORATION
Forward any uncertainties, discrepancies, or process-related inquiries to the Cash Application Supervisor for guidance and assistance.
Collaborate with team members to seek support and ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks.
When necessary, serve as a liaison between the cash team and the process excellence team, IT department, and system vendors.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience with SAP, specializing in the Cash Application and Accounts Receivable modules, including tasks such as research, reconciliation workflows, and analyzing cross-module impacts.
Advanced, hands-on experience with HighRadius, including automated cash application, remittance capture, exception management, and driving system optimization opportunities.
3-5 years of progressive experience in Cash Application, Accounts Receivable, or related accounting functions, ideally within Consumer Packaged Goods or high-volume transactional environments.
Proven expertise in managing large, complex cash volumes across multiple payment channels, including ACH, wire transfers, lockbox, EFT, credit card transactions, and treasury platforms.
Demonstrated ability to resolve high-impact issues, such as unapplied/misapplied cash, unknown payments, returned checks, and failed transactions, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and prevention.
Strong background in customer account reconciliation, resolving payment discrepancies, and collaborating with Collections, Billing, and Customer Service teams to ensure the accuracy and cleanliness of cash flow.
Experience leading or co-leading continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of automation, workflow redesign, and the enhancement of financial controls and master data quality.
Proficient in developing and monitoring cash performance metrics, dashboards, and analytical reports to drive operational improvements and support informed decision-making.
Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort with financial and operational data analysis, with an emphasis on data visualization and generating actionable insights.
Skilled at influencing cross-functional stakeholders and contributing to the creation of efficient, scalable cash application operations.

The base salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
