Mandate
The purpose of this role is to support the I&CB Corporate Banking lending line of business’ ability to execute the 1st line of defense accountability for portfolio and risk management activities, and for the efficient functioning of the LOB. As an integral part of the team, the Business Analyst, Corporate Banking assists the Corporate Bankers by taking responsibility for the operation of certain key business processes, and by responding effectively to customer and banker requests. Responsibilities include operational functions such as client onboarding and portfolio maintenance activities. Responsibilities may include support for certain cash management-related activities. The allocation and type of functions depends on the needs of the individual group. The individual will be supporting the Global Natural Resources team (Energy, Energy Transition, and Power, Utilities & Infrastructure), and will be supporting bankers located in Toronto, New York, Calgary and Houston.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business/business administration or other equivalent post-secondary diploma with 1- 2 years related work experience
- Understanding of accounting principles and various types of financial statements

Key Accountabilities
Portfolio Activity and Maintenance
- Monitor and track quarterly and monthly covenant and trigger processes for on time completion. Manage portfolio data across deal sites and engage with teams to coordinate timely covenant and trigger monitoring. Print status report mid-month and communicate with Bankers in advance of 30 day grace period.
- Manage legal documentation and compliance exceptions with Banker and client
- Monitoring and disseminating external rating agency reports for borrowers across the portfolio
- Maintain external ratings (S&P, Moody’s, DBRS, Fitch) and EDF databases used for monthly trigger monitoring
- Complete other portfolio monitoring (e.g. track rating alert due dates, etc.) as required by or unique to individual Corporate Banking teams
- Special projects as needed (i.e. team training, remediation and other one off requests)
Risk Management & Control
- Within the mandate of this role, promote, adhere and support the Bank’s risk culture; lead by example.
- Within the mandate of this role, maintain internal controls to support management decision-making that protects our assets and adheres to applicable corporate policies, operating directives, laws and regulations (including risk, compliance, and AML).
AML/UEN/Client Onboarding Requests
- Initiate UEN requests for new deal set-up. Interface with the Client Onboarding (COB) group
- Initial review of AML checklists, track changes and coordinate completion of annual reviews. BA will review AML analyst changes and ensure checklist is correct before sending to banker for approval.
Authorities
- Provides advice and guidance to the bankers on standard operating procedures and adherence to corporate guidelines
- Requests information and action from operational support groups
Scope & Impact
- Provides support for the substantial Corporate Banking I&CB & Trading Products portfolios including multiple priority relationships and major cash management clients
- Maintains individual and process efficiency, productivity and quality
- Performs all responsibilities according to established service levels and procedures/guidelines
- Ensures client satisfaction through a high level of customer service and professionalism, adhering to policies and procedures
Salary:
$49,500.00 - $91,300.00Pay Type:
