Healthcare Department Chair 

Position Overview

We are seeking a Department Chair to provide leadership for our Healthcare programs. Working closely with the Director of Education, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in student support, faculty supervision, curriculum development, and overall academic program management for all Healthcare programs.

What you’ll do

  • Supervise the Healthcare programs, including Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy.
  • Supervise faculty members and staff, providing feedback, training, and coaching.
  • Foster a positive work environment for faculty, ensuring compliance with Campus standards.
  • Actively support retention efforts - advising and providing students with guidance on academic progress.
  • Manage curriculum development assignments, ensuring compliance and cooperation with faculty.
  • Manage teaching loads, assign instructors to courses, and ensure timely staffing substitutions.
  • Coordinate assessment activities, create and maintain a project plan, and communicate objectives and progress updates.
  • Lead assessment activities for the academic department, collecting and analyzing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the state-approved Phlebotomy program.

About you

You’ll fit right in if you are/have:

  • 5 years of related experience in academic administration and program coordination.
  • Experience supervising a team of 25+ employees
  • Licensed Medical Assistant Certification required 
  • Associate Degree or higher is preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Sacramento, California (Fully Onsite)
