Job Summary

This position is responsible for general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment within the Distribution Center and Annex. Mechanical responsibilities include equipment, machinery, plumbing, HVAC, and electric. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

Responsibilities

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

% TIME

Complete general repairs and maintenance

Responsible for Installation, repairs and maintenance of electrical components, wiring and electrical equipment

Operate manual battery pullers to change batteries in MHE equipment and at elevated heights inside of battery rack locations

20%

Perform preventive maintenance to battery pullers, batteries, wash cabinets, and battery racks

20%

Build, repair, and paint various interior and exterior finishes, perform inspection on regulatory components of the distribution center

20%

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)   required.

3 years of experience in Maintenance and/or conveyor maintenance required.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

• Other, PLEASE LIST BY NAME CPR preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, or governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Able to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and  decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw, and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and trigonometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive  variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Freedom to Act

Ability to accomplish work without considerable direction. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria in obtaining results. Exert significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Take calculated risks with consultation from the expert.

Problem Complexity and Problem Solving Timeframes

Ability to provide resolution to problems that are readily identifiable with limited scope and are resolved in accordance with standard practices, procedures, applications or routines. Problem/Task resolution timeframe: The majority of tasks typically take one to two days to resolve.

Impact

Failure to obtain results or erroneous judgments or recommendations would normally have serious results and may require substantial expenditure of resources to correct and / or achieve goals.
