Job Description
The Warehouse Operations Manager will serve as a strategic partner to the ITW Renovation & Remodeling leadership team as a key decision maker related to all facets of our Elgin facility and external warehouses/3PLs. The Manager will be responsible for delivering results in safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a strong enterprise-minded leader capable of further developing a safety-first culture, a robust ITW-Toolbox operations strategy, building a diverse talent pipeline, and leading continues improvement activities to service ‘80’ customers with excellence in one of ITW’s largest divisions as it continues to grow.
Core Responsibilities:
- Direct, lead, and promote site leaders to develop a proactive safety culture that achieves zero incidents
- Drives improvement in order accuracy, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies using the ITW Toolbox. Lead continues improvement projects with attention to employee engagement.
- Defines and establishes objectives in the areas of safety, order accuracy/quality, on-time performance, and productivity including developing specific short-term and long-term plans which may include budget and capital requests
- Assures ‘80’ customer-related performance and expectations is well understood and communicated upstream and downstream
- Proactively partner with the New Product Development/Rollout initiatives, program expansions, and other marketing-driven programs
- Assures quality processes are consistently applied across distribution operations
- Effectively hires and develops a diverse team of talent
- Engage employees in company/department plans and performance progress
- Additional duties and task as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required; MBA a plus
- Preferred 10+ years of relevant warehouse and progressive management experience, including 5+ years of people management experience with a proven track record of success
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Change agent that demonstrates original thinking, facilitation skills, and the ability to develop innovative approaches for improving workflow and processes within the ITW Business Model
- Ability to generate respect and trust from team and other stakeholders, along with the ability to work collaboratively with staff/colleagues to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
- Willingness to flex work schedule based on customer fulfillment needs
- Experience with ERP Modules, working knowledge of Microsoft Navision is highly desired
- Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimal Travel
