Position Summary
Provides strategic leadership and oversees the digital engineering function by managing a team of engineers, defining technical strategies and roadmaps, ensuring successful project delivery, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Coordinates with stakeholders, allocates resources, drives technical excellence, and creates alignment between business goals and technical solutions to ensure continuous improvement of digital engineering capabilities within the organization.
What you will do:
Define and execute the organization’s database strategy aligned with business goals
Provide thought leadership on emerging database technologies, trends and best practices.
Collaborate with execute leadership to align data initiatives with enterprise objectives.
Analyze and contribute to project and business requirements based on product team milestones and priority.
Design and maintain scalable, secure and high-performance database systems for both on-prem & cloud
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA) and data governance policies by applying encryption or masking techniques to sensitive data across all the datasets.
Be a technologist and work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing and performing assigned tasks within deadlines
Will be responsible for end-to-end application development & delivery including production deployment, application operationalization, and observability.
Develops solutions that are well engineered, flexible, resilient, operable, maintainable, and can be delivered on schedule. Ensures a balance between tactical and strategic technology solutions.
Lead and mentor database engineers & architects. Oversee hiring, performance management, career development of team members.
Optimize database performance, scalability and reliability. Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time data processing
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in software engineering
5+ years experience with Postgres database
5+ years experience in Oracle database and procedural development
Preferred Qualifications
• Healthcare Domain experience
• 10+ years of experience in Oracle database and procedural development
• 10+ years of database modelling and design.
• 5+ years of experience in Postgres database.
• 3+ years of experience in Cloud database solutions, preferably Google Cloud. • Strong ETL/ELT experience.
• Experience in large scale data migrations (several TBs) across hybrid environments.
• Have a strong desire to mentor and coach other engineers.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change requirements.
• Strong understanding of observability and using telemetry to inform decision making.
• Proficient understanding of different infrastructure architecture design
Education
Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 10 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
