Position Summary
As the Mainline Crew Lead – Wastewater, you will be responsible for leading a field crew in the inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of wastewater collection systems using specialized CCTV and sewer maintenance equipment. This role ensures the integrity and functionality of municipal sewer infrastructure by identifying blockages, defects, and other issues that could pose risks to public health or the environment. Working in various field conditions, including busy roadways and uneven terrain, you will ensure all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Strong leadership, a commitment to safety, and technical expertise are key to success in this role.
Regional & Work Environment Considerations
This role involves working along busy streets, highways, and residential roads, often in high-traffic areas. Crews must follow strict safety protocols and be aware of roadside hazards. Some sites may include embankments, uneven terrain, or wet conditions. Expect outdoor challenges and changing weather conditions. This means adapting to high heat, humidity, sudden storms, and cold temperatures.
Qualifications
Primary Responsibilities
• Distribute work assignments from the Field Operations Manager to Technicians
• Provide field services for data collection and assess the condition of sanitary and storm sewer collection systems using a wide array of technologies.
• Maintain clean equipment and toolboxes.
• Perform basic math skills and use of computer applications.
• Receive and respond to first line of technical support issues for Technicians in the group and escalate to Field Operations Manager and/or Project Manager as needed.
• Utilize web maps to facilitate corrections as needed.
• Utilize data transfer tools for accessing and uploading files as necessary.
• Proactively report any issues observed with Technicians to the Field Operations Manager and Project Manager
• Ensure all safety requirements, policies, and procedures are followed and enforced as necessary.
• Perform written discipline as needed with extreme issues escalated to Field Operations Manager
Job Qualifications and Skills:

Valid Driver's License with a good driving record

Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment DOT drug screen required as a condition of employment.

Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification as required by project locations.

Must be able to walk on various terrain, work in various type of weather conditions and work in confined spaces, bend, squat and lift/carry up to 75 pounds.

Ability to travel 2 to 3 weeks at a time as needed, work weekends and work some nights. Travel could be upwards of 80% of the time based on project locations.

Must have reliable transportation.
