ABOUT THE ROLE:
NBC Universal has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become a Scrum Lead/Compute Engineer for Enterprise Engineering with a specific focus on support of the NBCU infrastructure.  Operations & Technology supports Enterprise Technology, Broadcast and Production systems across the NBCU portfolio globally.

The Scrum Lead/Compute Engineer will partner with NBCU Local Technology leadership on technology strategy, large scale initiatives, collaboration with cross-functional business leaders and partners providing “best in class” architecture for our NBCU businesses.

• Scrum Lead
  • Build/maintain a strong relationship with clients, with a mix of support, strategy, and innovation
  • Develop partnerships across engineering and operations teams with cross-facility support and engagement
  • Support both on-premises and public cloud-based solutions
  • Provide regular updates to management and clients regarding initiatives, support, and technology roadmaps
  • Work closely with Business Engagement, operations teams, clients, and executive management both formally and informally
  • Track timelines, manage priorities and schedules, and set client expectations
  • Familiar with agile methodologies, sprint management
  • Familiar with DevOps/Automation tools and concepts
  • Familiar with Jira/ServiceNow and other toolsets for Agile/Scrum initiative tracking
• Technical Requirements and Strategy
  • Be a team member of the Compute Engineer team supporting Virtualization, Data Protection, and Compute technologies for on-prem and cloud services
  • Partner with Business Engagement team to capture technical requirements, provide solutions and ensure resources are available to hit required timelines.
  • Some Expertise in Compute technologies
  • Working knowledge of data center, wiring, and facilities
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols, structure, and design
  • Develop a product mindset with technology
  • Familiar with public cloud architecture, service offerings, and support in AWS and Azure
  • Demonstrate a high tolerance for stress, work well with others and provide a supportive attitude for all colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a level of expertise with a broad range of technologies
  • Grow with the industry, adapting to new technologies as they develop

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Collaboration and Technical Communication
  • Strong customer service skills and unfailing professionalism
  • Partner closely and collaborate enthusiastically with both clients at the local facilities and peers across O&T
  • Demonstrate impeccable written and verbal communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. degree in an Information Technology related technical discipline or 4+ years equivalent practical experience required
• Must be willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays with little or/no notice
• Certification in AWS or Azure cloud fundamentals.

This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
