Regional Aftercare Supervisor (Full-time) (Calipatria, CA)

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Regional Aftercare Supervisor is responsible for supervising up to ten (10) AOD Counseling staff and evaluating staff performance and providing applicable coaching and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise up to ten (10) AOD Counseling staff;
- Performs supervisory duties including: recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, develop and evaluating department staff; manages performance, conducts performance appraisals, conducts regular supervisory meetings, and takes disciplinary measures as needed.
- Be responsible for the overall administration of the day-to-day delivery of program activities of all aftercare and short-term education programs in the assigned region.
- Provides leadership to the programs and directs the overall management, organization, and operations of all services and related activities for the aftercare and short-term education program.
- Prepares and/or manages monthly statistical reporting of program services and other reports required
- Have knowledge of the AOD certification process and regularly monitor counseling staff progress towards achieving and maintaining valid AOD certification;
- Supervise the orientation and intake processes of all participants newly assigned to programming;
- Approve and monitor treatment/action plan development;
- Track all participants (i.e. names of all participants in the program, counselors assigned to participants, stage of program participation, etc.);
- Provide training, oversight and monitoring of all ARMS documentation to ensure compliance with the terms of this Agreement;
- Provide training to AOD Counseling staff
- Provide clinical verification of internship hours for AOD Counseling staff
- Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS and institution staff.
- Review and approve employees timecards in the HRIS system to ensure employees are following Phoenix House Leave and Pay Practices policies
- Maintain a consistent and supportive environment for both staff participants.
- Maintain appropriate and professional boundaries between staff and the participants.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Comply at all times with ethical and moral standards of any social service, profession, certification or license, organizational, and CDCR requirements.
- Deliver programming and treatment services to the participants.
- Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, records visible changes in appearance, behavior and demeanor of program participants.
- Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time
- Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings
- Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent in this position Supervised up to ten (10) AOD Counseling Staff
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
The Supervising Counselor shall be certified as an AOD Counselor, with a certifying organization recognized by DHCS, unless exempt per Section XI. CONTRACT PERSONNEL, letter H. AOD Certification.
- The Supervising Counselor, if not exempt, shall be AOD certified at a level that allows the Supervising Counselor to provide clinical verification of internship hours for AOD Counseling staff and OMCP Mentors. The Supervising Counselor shall have a working knowledge of SUDT programs and must meet at least one (1) of the following requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field and one (1) year of experience providing SUDT services, as a certified AOD Counselor, at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III; or
- An associate degree in a social service-related field and two (2) years of experience providing SUDT services, as a certified AOD Counselor, at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III; or
- Three (3) or more years of experience providing SUDT services, as a certified AOD Counselor, at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III.
Note: Social Services degree such as Psychology, Sociology, Human Services and Counseling as defined by the CSU, UC and California Community Colleges. All closely related fields/degrees shall be considered on case-by-case basis.
