In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products.  At API, you’ll join a global network of manufacturing professionals who are passionate about what they do.

The Position

Provide routine support & troubleshooting for the Raw Materials and Solvents equipment throughout the plant. Improve system and equipment reliability for the core processes to meet customer, business & regulatory requirements. Meet or exceed customer, business & regulatory requirements in accordance with Novo Nordisk Way. Ensure all activities are aligned with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program.

 

Relationships

Reports to Manager, Technical Support - Project Readiness.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support commissioning & qualification within area
  • Support quality of equipment and processes in DAPI-US
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities
  • Provide technical support to the operating facilities to meet business goals
  • Functional knowledge in assigned area
  • Generate ideas for improvement within area and support implementation
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Ability to do close precision work with their hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May required corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in pharmacology, engineering, biology or related field required
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience operating in a GMP regulated environment preferred
  • Specialist in raw material handling & solvent preparation processes in pharmaceutical industry is a plus
  • Experience with design of requirements documents is a plus
  • Knowledge about requirements/expectations of regulatory authorities e.g. FDA is a plus
  • Experience with Process Control Systems is a plus
  • Proven ability to establish & maintain networks & facilitate processes that encourage cross organizational knowledge sharing is a plus
