Brussels office - Employee Experience team

About this job 

Looking after our associates is key and making sure they get paid and rewarded correctly is a big part of this. In this varied and broad role you will be responsible for the monthly payroll for both Belgium and the Netherlands.  You will manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider and validate the monthly payroll for all entities.  You will be responsible for maintaining all employee benefits and work closely with both the NielsenIQ Finance Team and the external Pension and Benefit Providers.  You will be a subject matter expert for Payroll providing expertise to the wider HR Community on payroll and benefit-related topics and initiatives and ensure compliance with local regulations. You will also manage and participate in People initiatives and support the daily activities of the HR department. This role may span across different functional areas within the team including relations, benefits, compensation, administration, reporting, recruitment, and project management. 

The role is hands-on and successful individuals will be customer-focused, personable yet professional, exhibit strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a high volume, high-pressure environment.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, has a real eye for the detail and relishes the opportunity to embrace new challenges. 

Responsibilities 

  • Act as payroll gatekeeper, responsible for the full end to end payroll process ensuring associates are paid accurately and on time 
  • Run our onboarding program (orientation, system entry, paperwork validation) and be the first point of contact for our regional employee base 
  • Execute HR operational processes and services including employment contracts/addendums and ensure data integrity  
  • Be our point-person for employee PeopleOps-related inquiries—delegating to others when needed 
  • Identify and drive process improvement efforts, leveraging HR systems to automate and eliminate manual work where possible 
  • Provide Leave of Absence administrative support, in partnership with People Managers 
  • Conduct exit interviews and share insights/recommend an actionable change to improve our employees’ experience 
  • Recommend ways to improve our employees’ experience 
  • Stay current on regulatory changes related to local, state, federal law compliance

Qualifications  

  • Proven knowledge of payroll legislation and experience in end to end payroll processing in Belgium 
  • Fluent in French and English – verbally and in writing 
  • 2+ years HR work experience within a service organization of a multinational company environment  
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or Business, or equivalent work experience as a Human Resources Generalist. 
  • Working Knowledge of Dutch would be a great asset
  • Knowledge of labour laws, rules, regulations and obligations within the Netherlands
