Senior Software Product Manager
AndurilAbout the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
The Business Systems team is responsible for building and improving the many business systems that enables Anduril to accomplish its mission. Anduril’s supply chain, accounting, sales & growth, engineering, field maintenance, manufacturing, and many more teams rely on the technology built by us. We work across the company to ensure we have the tools and capabilities necessary for mission success.
As a Sr. Software Product Manager on Business Systems, you will be responsible for a suite of internal products that span a large number of stakeholders. These products include our LLM tool (used to accelerate employee productivity), time keeping tool (used for tracking labor and costs for business lines), and our data integration platform (used for scaling our integrations across systems). Because these products have different user bases and stakeholders, you must be an agile, general athlete-style PM who can pivot from deep diving the intricacies of API documentation, to re-designing the front end of one of your apps in Figma, to leading SVPs and executives through a roadmap presentation, all in the course of a single day.
Key Responsibilities
Across all products you’ll own (and those we’ve yet to start!), you will be responsible for:
- Developing the product vision after synthesizing stakeholder requirements and feedback and aligning with targeted business outcomes
- Crafting a product roadmap and ensuring that roadmap is effectively decomposed for your development team’s backlog
- Communicating across stakeholders on your products’ development and roadmap
- Integrating your products’ with surrounding systems and ensuring total compatibility
- Driving adoption and enablement
- Monitoring and tracking product performance to understand if business outcomes are indeed successful
Required Characteristics:
Anduril is an extremely fast-paced defense technology startup that is rapidly scaling itself. Our culture is one of ambition, hard work, relentless pursuit of excellence, and deliberate disruption. The successful candidate will be one who demonstrates the follow core characteristics:
- Bias for Action - they ask for forgiveness, not permission, and hate the idea of waiting around to be told what to do
- Outcome-Oriented - they determine what benefits the business needs and work backwards from those outcomes
- Customer Focused - they display user empathy to boost engagement and build experiences that delight.
- Dive Deep - they sweat the details and roll up their sleeves to uncover the root causes for systemic issues
- Ownership - they care deeply not just about their products, but for all the business outcomes that their systems supports as well, holding themselves accountable for everything it both does and fails to do
- Agility - they change directions easily and without regret, quickly adapting to shifting business priorities
- First Principles Thinking - they approach problems and develop solutions not based on what a vendor recommends or because it’s how they did things at their last job, but from a deep appreciation of what is best for the enterprise
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in software product development, with demonstrated aptitude across a broad range of product types (internal tools, customer-facing applications, tools for technical customers)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to self-service design using common tools (Figma)
- Ability to balance requirements across engineering, data, and business stakeholders
- Aptitude for working with stakeholders who span a wide range of technical comfort
- Demonstrated success decomposing a problem into addressable component parts and arranging the correct sequencing
- Proven ability to “see around corners” by crafting product strategy for 12-18 months into the future
- Comfort in maturing a product from MVP to enterprise-grade production
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
