CDL Driver (Fleet & Equipment Transport)

We are looking for a conscientious CDL Driver (Fleet & Equipment Transport) who takes pride in ensuring vehicles and equipment are operated safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities Include:

• Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle, trailer and equipment inspections and completes driver's checklist electronically in Fleetio.
• Transports vehicles and equipment to jobsites, locations and/or maintenance shop for scheduled service.
• Loads and unloads equipment in a safe manner by always utilizing the help of a second person, and ensures equipment is correctly secured on trailers.
• Practices safe driving skills in all operating conditions (including "4 second rule") following all vehicular safety regulations and consistently using spotters.
• Recognizes mechanical issues as they develop with engine, brakes and electrical systems and takes action when necessary to shut down and secure the machine to avoid additional damage; reports maintenance needed and/or any damage to the Fleet Manager and Shop Foreman.
• Can follow GPS and get to job sites and locations in a timely manner.
• Maintains clean vehicles including spraying down trailers when needed and practicing good housekeeping on all equipment.
• Ensures trucks are fueled daily as necessary.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures; wears required PPE.

Requirements:

• Must have a CDL Class A.
• Must be able to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Knowledge and ability to use GPS devices.
• Follows all DOT requirements and traffic regulations.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work weekends and occasional nights.
• Ability to travel to various worksites and yards.
• Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions.
