Production Planner I

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Planner is responsible for planning and managing the workload in the manufacturing facility. Planning all production orders, manage the workload and materials, maintaining on-time delivery, and achieving the flexibility required to serve the project dynamics of the Vanderlande organization.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Building a production schedule that maximizes throughput and customer satisfaction while keeping resource, machine and material constraints in mind.
  • Maximizing on-time shipments and customer satisfaction by setting achievable target delivery dates and working to mitigate any risks that would prevent timely shipments.
  • Review production orders and make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budget limitations and time constraints.
  • Review production and quality data and confer with employees to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Coordinate with the departments Supply Chain, Production, Procurement, Inventory, Manufacturing Engineering and the Vanderlande Logistics Center to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ of experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point and MRP/ERP) including the ability to prepare spreadsheets to calculate data and trends
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Takes initiatives, is willing to take up challenges. Creates and drives opportunities to improve performance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years manufacturing experience
  • Six sigma green belt certification
  • Team leader or management experience
  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Travel:

This position requires up to 10% travel.  

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
