About the role
2nd shift: 4pm-12am(midnight) w/ Mandatory Overtime
As A General Mechanic for Wise Foods you will be primarily responsible for the of repairs and maintenance of all production equipment, physical plant facilities and primary services such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairing, rebuilding, maintaining and fabricating plant process and warehouse equipment.
- Install and remove equipment as needed.
- Use oil to maintain grease levels on all equipment and machinery.
- Operate lift trucks, platform lifts and articulating boom lifts.
- Be able to operate all company vehicles.
Job Requirements
MUST meet ALL the job requirements as follows:
- Have the ability to read, write & communicate in English.
- Possess fabrication knowledge of the principles involved in material design & layout.
- Have a valid, standard PA driver's license.
- Be able to lift in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
- Bend, stoop, work in confined spaces, climb ladders & work from lifts.
- Have knowledge and work experience using basic hand & power tools, including, but not limited to wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hand drills, portable saws, grinders, cut-off tools, lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, band saws, hydraulic shears & press breaks.
- Use & read a tape measure, dial calipers & scales.
- Possess knowledge of pipe installation, tubing, valves & fittings.
- Have moderate knowledge & skill in ARC, TIG & MIG welding & acetylene torch cutting.
- Be willing to comply with all company GMP standards.
- Adhere to all safety prevention practices, procedures & equipment & demonstrate knowledge of safety rules, regulations & practices
Education & Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skills
Preferred:
- College or Technical School Degree
- 5 plus years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of OSHA and Food Safety regulations
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints/drawing
