Summary

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Energy Division. We are looking for a Senior Propane Pricing Analyst to drive the development, implementation, and execution of competitive pricing strategies for posted volumes, and then measuring the success in reaching those strategies. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be a critical team player, responsible for daily pricing of propane at 3 major hubs and over 124 terminals throughout the US, in a very transparent and competitive commodity market. 
  • Work with each Propane Account Manager to develop and manage rack pricing strategies across their region. 
  • Work with each Account Manager to set daily rack prices in their region that achieve the agreed upon strategy. 
  • Present regular updates to Propane Leadership Team regarding rack pricing trends, opportunities, market share standing, and goal execution. 
  • Supervise and lead the process of entering the daily rack prices into the CHS pricing system. 
  • Develop tools to aid the analysis of competitive positioning through various sources including Oil Price Information Service (OPIS), Transmission Data Network (DTN), and sales. 
  • Perform continuous market analysis and provide consistent communication to appropriate stakeholders. 
  • Run ad hoc analysis of specific market anomalies. 
  • Recommend changes to processes for better efficiencies and market alignment. 
  • Work as IT liaison and on various ad-hoc groups on system enhancement management and break/fix issues. 
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED 
  • 4+ years of commodity marketing, sales or pricing experience with a strong analytical background

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance, Business, Marketing, Engineering or other related field (or equivalent years of training, work experience and education) 
  • Energy industry, ideally propane experience 
  • Proficient user of MS Office, Excel spreadsheets and web-based applications 
  • MS Power Bl experience preferred 
  • JD Edwards and/or SAP experience 
  • Pricing optimization software experience 
  • Previous experience in pricing commodity type products or markets 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast changing environment
