About the role
- For Excess & Surplus Lines Property division, reviews complex risk submissions for both new business and renewals, gathering and analyzing all pertinent data to determine acceptability of risk. Reviews endorsements on existing policies to identify any change in original coverage.
- Evaluates, accepts, rejects, or modifies risks within established Underwriting guidelines and authority.
- Visits producers and promotes Chubb Westchester Property coverage’s, products and services. Maintains alliance with producers to promote high level customer orientation and encourage submission of targeted business.
- Performs other duties as required to best serve customer and team needs.
- Manage all phases of agency management within assigned territory.
- Proficient level of Excess & Surplus Lines Property risk underwriting skill and competence, with the ability to handle large complex risks
- Minimum of 7 years property U/W experience or its equivalent. Demonstrate initiative as evidenced by ability to self-manage, organize, and prioritize work.
- Wholesale underwriting experience is preferred, but retail experience is accepted.
- Excellent ability to develop, implement and manage a marketing plan.
- Outstanding Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish trust and effective working relationships with others-both external and internal customers.
- Strong Communication Skills, including the ability to listen effectively; to confidently and diplomatically express opinions and voice concerns with other team members; and to present effective written communication to varied audiences.
- People management experienced preferred.
- Resourceful training capabilities.
- Computer skills in various programs
