Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

Brown and Caldwell has an opportunity for a Senior-Level Project Manager with experience managing and executing work involving projects for the water industry (water and wastewater). You will have an essential role in our Mid-West area business and client connections, based in our Detroit, office. In collaboration with the local office leader, Client Service Managers, Technical Service Leaders, and Marketing Managers, you will maintain and develop client relationships, connect BC solutions to client needs, and lead project teams in quality project delivery.
Detailed Description:
This role requires differentiating client service, sustainable and innovative solutions, and effective collaboration with our technical service providers and client contacts. This is a strategic position for someone who takes pride in exceptional client service, and positive results for our environment and clients.
- Perform design management and/or project management on water projects in the Desert Area.
- Project assignments will be focused on water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects.
- The lead project team in planning and/or designing engineering projects and coordinating special planning, economic, and engineering studies
- Direct the work of drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplines
- Supervise, delegate, and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and designers
- Work with our sales team to identify project opportunities and support the business development process by developing proposal content including scopes and fees
- Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents
- Support construction projects with office and field engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, inspection) when required.
- This role will need to be local in Phoenix with onsite needs for our clients in the general area. This person is not required to work from the office at this time.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field is required.
- 5 - 15 years of experience in municipal engineering and consulting preferred.
- Experience should also include site and facility layouts, wastewater conveyance/treatment, and water supply transmission design.
- Project management skills are required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
- Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentation experience are a plus.
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents required.
- Flexibility to work in other service areas such as infrastructure, wastewater, and/or water preferred but not required.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $145,000 - $199,000
