Job Summary:

The Lead Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality clinical support to physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), helping meet the operational needs of the practice and the healthcare needs of patients. Working collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families, the Lead RN promotes safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.  This role is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, delivering and documenting nursing care, and ensuring practice aligns with professional nursing standards, organizational policies, and evidence-based practices.

 

This is a unique opportunity to support two growing specialty practices—Gastroenterology and Endocrinology—at the Highlands Ranch location. The Lead RN will have the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across both clinics, helping shape workflows, improve patient care processes, and contribute to the continued growth and success of these expanding programs.

 

In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the Lead RN serves as a clinical leader, mentor, and subject matter expert for the department.  This individual partners with the Practice Manager and/or Director to support staff onboarding, training, competency development, daily workflow coordination, and clinical operations.  The Lead RN also champions process improvement initiatives, assists with departmental development, promotes quality and patient safety, and helps foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning while serving as a resource for clinical and operational questions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Is a lead and subject matter expert for the other Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, and Providers, and other ancillary members of the team.

  • Trains and helps the Practice Manager/Director onboard new staff members (as applicable).

  • Assists the Practice Manager/Director with workload management to ensure each Provider is effectively supported and able to operate at the top of their scope.

  • Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, and pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments, procedures, or arrange hospital tests or admissions, using, interpreting, communicating, and documenting with proper medical terminology.

  • Participates in data collection and analysis of clinical outcomes of care and customer satisfaction standards.

  • Evaluates and identifies members' needs.

  • Assists physician with procedures as necessary.

  • Administers immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed; records and documents all such activities in the chart.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Highlands Ranch, CO.
