About this role

The Associate Director, General Legal provides general legal advising for Carrier’s North America Commercial HVAC businesses. This position is based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and reports directly to the Executive Director, HVAC Americas Legal.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and service on broad range of areas to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations to ensure that corporate interests are well-represented.

• Assist business leaders to resolve commercial disputes, negotiate complex contracts, and provide legal guidance for U.S.-based factories and operations. 

• Manage litigation portfolio in conjunction with litigation team, including responsibility for significant litigation matters. 

• Coordinate with internal Centers of Excellence to provide full-scale legal support for business.

• Support innovative business actions with a lens for compliance and risk mitigation. 

• Advise business on compliance risks and assisting in closing compliance gaps by providing training on and implementing corporate policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from accredited US law school 

• Bar Admission in any US state

• 6+ years law firm experience or in-house corporate/commercial experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in contracts, commercial litigation, construction, or corporate law

• Experience advising in manufacturing/technology, including factory and supply chain

• Excellent written and communication skills

• Consultative, strategic and solution focused business partner with a growth mindset
