We’re headquartered in NYC and offer hybrid NY-based positions (four days/ week in-office, with no required office days during the summer and winter holidays).</p> <h2><strong>About the role</strong></h2> <p>As a Staff Mobile Engineer on the Mobile Platform team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the shared mobile infrastructure, frameworks, and tooling that power Betterment’s applications. You’ll play a key role in shaping the developer experience for mobile engineers across the company, ensuring that teams can deliver features quickly, safely, and sustainably.</p> <p>Platform engineering at Betterment enables engineers across the organization to ship great code with confidence. Our team works closely with product engineers to deliver cross-cutting capabilities, infrastructure, and frameworks that unlock faster delivery while maintaining quality. We tackle the most interesting technical challenges of scale, architecture, and developer experience to create an app platform that delights both our customers and our engineers.</p> <p>This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>New York City: $200,000 – $228,000</li> </ul> <p>This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.</p> <h2><strong>A day in the life</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Build and maintain the shared React Native frameworks, libraries, and developer tooling that mobile product teams use to deliver customer-facing features</li> <li>Partner with engineers across engineering to improve reliability, performance, and security of our mobile apps</li> <li>Lead medium-to-large scale platform initiatives, balancing tradeoffs to ship high-quality solutions continuously and iteratively</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and fellow engineers to ensure platform capabilities align with business and customer needs</li> <li>Teach and Learn.
