About the role

PathGroup is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Dermatopathologist to join our expanding dermatopathology team in Birmingham, AL. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to practice in a newly consolidating and fully digital lab environment that brings together a large team of dermatopathologists under one roof. The role supports both high-volume dermatopathology work and the broader vision of creating a Center of Excellence through innovation, digital pathology, and collaborative practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sign-out of dermatopathology cases with a focus on high-volume skin biopsy diagnostics
  • Collaboration with a national dermatopathology team to ensure consistency and excellence
  • Participation in digital workflow optimization and quality initiatives
  • Potential leadership engagement in mentoring, integration, and team-building activities
  • Optional involvement in clinical consultations and interdisciplinary case discussions

 

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Dermatopathology
  • Medical licensure or eligibility in Alabama
  • Excellent diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills
