About the role

Summary: Works with the receiving department to ensure the quality of all deliveries meet the casino’s standards and processes. Visually or manually inspect, test, and/or weigh products, before, during or after the receiving process. Also, in charge of all inventory product re-orders and deliveries.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Unpacks and performs quality inspections on incoming shipments. Checks expiration dates, temperature logging, and weighing items as necessary.
  • Rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages and reports these errors to procurement via phone call and or emails.
  • Day dotting all new inventory products and ensure stock is rotated in the storage areas, refrigerated, frozen, dry goods, and paper products.
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Conveys inventory goods, materials and items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and stores the inventory of perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Fills and inventories requisitions from designated inventory areas (food, beverage, stewarding) and distributes items to departments.
  • Participates in counting inventory daily and monthly for end of the month inventory counts with Inventory Control Coordinator.

  • Communicates and updates effectively and efficiently with the Procurement office and Inventory Control Coordinator at all times via email and or phone calls.

  • Practices safe materials handling, storage procedures, and complies with OSHA laws, hazardous waste procedures and laws.
  • Assists Inventory Control, Purchasing and Revenue Reporting with daily inquiries and inventory reconciliations.
  • Reports for work on time and shows flexibility to work overtime, and/or changing hours or days off.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or technical training.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Advanced knowledge of building systems technology required.  
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
  • Ability to input data into computerized inventory system.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
  • Driving record must meet driver eligibility requirements of Rivers Casino Philadelphia insurance policy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and lift up to 100 pounds.
