POSITION OVERVIEW
This role will be a direct report to the Shared Services Portfolio Manager in the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). As a member of the EPMO team, the Senior Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the project management of initiatives being undertaken by Human Resources Teams. You will work closely with project teams (including HR and Technology SMEs , technology solution architects, Vendor / Integrators and industry SMEs) and key stakeholders to understand customer and user needs, resolve conflicts and remove barriers, and ensure deliverables are on-time and meet quality standards. This role will typically interface with a diverse mix of internal and vendor stakeholders, all working towards the goal of delivering a project on-time and at or under budget.
In addition to managing the projects, the PM is expected to manage any interdependencies between various projects and external teams needed to deliver our business goals. The role requires direct Project Management across multiple teams, stakeholders, and end users, and also requires performing business analysis, engaging with multiple business functions, and helping drive functional requirements for existing initiatives.
We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial and consultant outlook, people relationship builder, has a systems thinking mindset, the ability to simplify the complex and act upon it, who is comfortable working in a dynamic team environment including vendor management, and who will embrace the opportunity to connect cross functionally, program/portfolio management experience, and possesses excellent business partnering, negotiation and networking skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, Lead, Track and monitor project activities as per the project plan and timeline that includes decision making, risks, issues, deliverables, inter-dependencies, stage gates, schedule, resourcing, and costs
- Report progress status and escalate any issue to the Program Sponsor, Program Manager and Project team in a timely manner
- Schedule, prepare and manage project committees as part of the defined project governance
- Draft project deliverables based on input from the Program Sponsor, EPMO Portfolio Manager, and PMO teams
- Schedule workshops with key stakeholders, prepare workshop materials, lead workshops and draft minutes and communicate to stakeholder groups with an action plan
- Obtain feedback from the key stakeholders on draft deliverables
- Define and finalize deliverables based on key stakeholders' feedback
- Discover and document business requirements
- Familiarity with RFP process for evaluating / selecting 3rd party software providers
- Oversee program financials management, tracking and reporting
- Plan for and drive regular status and ad-hoc meetings between the numerous constituents of our cross functional teams. Develop and deliver content, keep track of notes and action items, and hold team member accountable to deliverables discussed in these meetings
- Deep-dive existing and potential problem areas, develop and communicate corrective action and mitigation plans, and drive follow-through to successful resolution. Be hands-on when needed to help your team solve problems and get through crunch periods
- Develop and conduct regular project and RAID log reviews with leaders, providing status updates and risk mitigation strategies
- Develop reasonable integrated project plans (Global Atlantic and External teams) and drive teams to on-time and cost with quality completion. Identify stakeholder and other responsibilities and commitments up-front and hold them as accountable as you hold your core project team
