Job Description Summary:
PayPal Data Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of PayPal, Inc., seeks Software Engineer 2 in Austin, TXJob Duties: Design, develop and deploy complex, multi-tier distributed software applications using Java and Go. Work in cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Aurora, Hadoop/Storm, developer tools such as Jenkins and proprietary technologies to build the next generation of Pay Pal Development pipeline and build systems. Build and implement software tools to address productivity of developers and their PO issues. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment. Test, troubleshoot and solve high throughput back-end software systems. Develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.
Job Description:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1.Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure
2.Provisioning infrastructure, deploying applications, and managing services in the cloud
3.Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile Methodology
4.Programming languages like Groovy, Java, Python, and Shell/Bash
5.CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with popular CI/CD tool - Jenkins 6.Version control - Git
7.Implement/configure build and deployment pipelines
8.Build automation tools Gradle and Maven
9.Containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
10.IaC tools like Terraform
11.Ability to define and manage infrastructure resources using code, allowing for reproducibility and automation
12. Networking concepts, protocols, and security practices
13.Firewalls, load balancers, and security best practices for applications and infrastructure
14. Monitoring tools like Splunk
15.Understanding log aggregation and analysis
