Summary

The internship will be for Spring through Summer 2024

This individual will be responsible for supporting the development of automated and semi-automated equipment for laser diode development and production with an emphasis on a broad hardware and software skill set.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the development of hardware and software solutions for semi-automated and automated assembly equipment with industrial robotic systems for laser diode development and manufacturing
  • Support the software development and implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for high volume semiconductor manufacturing
  • Provide daily support to Production, Production Engineering and Development Engineers at TRUMPF Photonics
  • Background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation and/or Vision Systems
  • Hands-on with extensive hardware and software lab experience, analytic skills and thoroughness required
  • Fluent communication in English (oral and writing)
  • Ability to work under supervision in different projects with a strong drive to solve problems.
  • Full time onsite position requires minimum 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Must be a students enrolled within the respective job family group undergoing supervised practical training.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language includes but not limited to Python, C#, C++, Labview, Java, etc. Hardware in the loop programming experience preferred.
  • Hands-on assembly and instrumentation tasks are required (less than 20%)
  • Able to understand CAD model and schematics
